November core infra grows at 1.7%
The core infrastructure grows to 1.7% (Y-O-Y) in November 2013 as compared to (-) 0.6% (Y-O-Y) in October 2013. The combined index of Eight Core Industries stands at 153.5 in November 2013 with a growth rate of 1.7% as compared to 5.8% in November 2012. Crude oil and Natural gas registered a growth rate of 1.1% and (-) 11.3% respectively in the month of November 2013.

In cumulative terms core infrastructure industries registered a growth of 2.5% during Apr-Nov 2013-14 as against 6.7% during the corresponding period of previous year.

Electricity generation grew by 5% during Apr–Nov 2013-14 as against 4.6% growth during Apr–Nov 2012-13, while steel production grew by 4.3% during Apr– Nov 2013-14 as against 2.2% during Apr- Nov 2012-13. The production in crude oil grew by (-) 0.9% during Apr– Nov 2013-14 as compared to its growth at (-) 0.5% during Apr– Nov 2012-13, whereas petroleum refinery production registered a growth of 2.6% during Apr– Nov 2013-14 as compared to 29.7% during Apr– Nov 2012-13. Fertilizer production grew by 2.5% during Apr– Nov 2013-14 compared to its growth at (-) 3.3% during Apr– Nov 2012-13 and cement production grew by 4% during Apr– Nov 2013-14 compared to its growth at 7.7% during Apr– Nov 2012-13.
